The Story of The Growth Guys is akin to a movie script. Paul and Karl have been friends since they were 15 and have been in bands together for the best part of 19 years.
In the Summer of 2019, an opportunity for Paul to jump out of the rat race presented itself, so he and Karl met in a Starbucks in York and talked about how the Marketing world was not focusing on ‘growth’ as a metric in a real way. Karl said, ‘If we were going to do something, we should be called The Growth Guys or something?’. Karl transitioned his freelance clients to The Growth Guys and Paul got to work on business development.
We’ve since grown 88.5% YoY, worked with FTSE 100 companies, achieved millions in revenue for clients and have had a blast doing it!

Our objective was to integrate a campaign to improve the Hotel Booked Revenue, ROAS, CTR and CPC for our client, Hampton Manor.
As Hampton is quite a high-end establishment the main target for Search was those already aware of what they were looking for, keywords such as a luxury break etc were used to drive quality traffic to the site along with Keywords focusing on foodie hotels, last minute breaks.
These were then split into two campaigns, one targeting UK-wide traffic with the appropriate geographies added then there was the localised campaign targeting 50 miles around the hotel.
For our social media element of the campaign, we targeted:
● Food Interests
○ Michelin Star, Michelin food guide, Fine wine & food. Etc
● Ethical Interests
○ Fairtrade, Ethical farming, Organic food, Organic Wine. Etc.
● Lifestyle interests
○ Guardian, Independent (news), Waitrose, Abel & Co, Riverford’s. Etc
Our strategy also included targeting affluent individuals looking who are interested in food and fine dining and targeting lookalikes of past booking data.
