We’re thrilled to be shortlisted for not one, but two awards at the UK Agency Awards 2022 in the following categories: B2B Agency of the Year and Small Consultancy of the Year. Think Feel Do (TFD) is a global-based impact marketing agency working in disruptive tech that has client success at its heart. Our independence means we can grow and flex, bringing in experts as needed while maintaining a close personal touch. We identify challenges, research our market, discover opportunities and provide creative solutions.
Think Feel Do is (literally) the name of the game at TFD. Think is about understanding the context and the data. Feel is about connecting with people via the right channels. Do is about creating and amplifying compelling and authentic content that tells a story.
A quote from our CEO & Founder, Stephanie Forrest, describes how thinking, feeling and doing translates to excellent client experience: “I set up TFD as I feel strongly that the relationship between agency and client needs to change. There needs to be a partnership between companies and their agencies. It’s about mutual success. And this is what we’ve aimed to do at TFD. We are passionate about what we do, and we work as an extension of our clients’ team, their strategy and how they think. In a number of cases, we are our clients marketing team. It’s really rewarding.” And “During our recent brand refresh, the following excerpt from our new website truly captures our approach, ‘Think of us as a powerful, intuitive extension of your business. Part of your team. Your very own lightsaber.”
What does all this mean in practice? In 2021, the agency retained 100% of its staff, grew the team by 100%, exceeded profit and revenue growth targets, and achieved 36% new client growth. Despite the challenges faced including competing with bigger and better know agencies to recruit the best staff, we at TFD are proud of the work we do and celebrate each other’s successes, which has enabled us to recruit some extremely talented people into the business.
Our flat structure means graduates work alongside directors necessitating fast employee development and the opportunity to take on extra responsibilities. This not only feeds into team motivation, but it encourages people with different experiences and perspectives to constantly interact, creating a dynamic workplace culture of continual learning and improvement, irrespective of seniority in the company.
Central to life at TFD is a focus on wellbeing and putting the team first and foremost.
- A quarterly wellness allowance encourages employees to invest in an event or product that improves physical and mental health e.g. a yoga mat, running trainers, or a creative workshop. There is also a profit share scheme, birthday ‘bunk-offs’ and personal development support with a full training programme.
- TFD together – to recognise and celebrate the team’s hard work, TFD hit the slopes in Morzine, France. Swapping our desks for the slopes – and pushing people out of their comfort zones in the process (!) – was a fun way of nurturing stronger team relationships and communication. As well as the team-building benefits, group activities – like a recent game of bingo at Hijingo, London – also encourage creativity and innovation.
- Team members are all included in a profit share scheme where great work is rewarded annually. More regularly, each monthly team meeting sees one or two team members rewarded for their stand-out efforts and going the extra mile.
These monthly, quarterly and annual wellness benefits are great for boosting team motivation, but it is the innovative, groundbreaking, disruptive companies we get to work with on a daily basis which is our job satisfaction bread and butter at TFD. We can honestly say we are a small agency working with big clients who are tackling the world’s greatest challenges – it doesn’t get much better than that! Earlier this year, for example, we worked with Oxford Instruments NanoScience and industry influencer, The Quantum Insider, to create Quantum Technology | Our Sustainable Future. A powerful documentary which aimed to stimulate conversations around how quantum technology can be utilised to combat climate change. We brought Oxford Instruments to the attention of global tech leaders such as Google, as well as smaller, impactful startups like PsiQuantum.
So, what do our clients say about what it’s like to work with us?
Burkhard Boeckem, CTO, Hexagon AB
“TFD is our strategic communications partner. They are extremely creative and continue to impress with their ideas, focus on business impact and their network including industry and media connections.”
William Sachiti, founder of the Academy of Robotics and serial entrepreneur
“The coverage the TFD team generated was instrumental in putting The Academy of Robotics on the map internationally. We went from being an almost unknown start-up to receiving enquiries from all around the world.”
And our TFDers?
Gemma Goatly, Director
“We love tech at TFD! That’s why we are lucky to work with some super exciting and innovative tech companies, getting under the skin to help tell their amazing stories and create mutual success. Everyone at TFD has the opportunity to make a difference and be heard, and we have a lot of fun doing it!”
Rianne Mason, Account Manager
“Working at TFD means not only are you able to do great work with exciting tech companies, but you’re continually learning about new industries that you wouldn’t necessarily come across otherwise. Everyone in the team is passionate and strives for success, which is why we’re able to have such a great working relationship with our clients.”
Jason Hoang, Digital Account Executive
“At TFD you have more responsibilities, which is great. Everyone makes you feel welcome and part of the team. If I don’t understand something, I know people are always willing to help.”
